കുമാരനാശാൻ്റെ വീണ പൂവ്, സിംഹപ്രസവം എന്നീ രണ്ടു ചെറു കൃതികൾ ആണ് രണ്ടു ഖണ്ഡകൃതികൾ എന്ന ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഉള്ളടക്കം.ഒരു പുഷ്പത്തിൻ്റെ വീഴ്ചയിലൂടെയും നാശത്തിലൂടെയും ജീവിതത്തിൻ്റെ ഭംഗിയും അനിത്യതയും തുറന്നു കാണിക്കുന്ന അപൂർവ കാവ്യ സ്ഷ്ടിയാണ് വീണപൂവ്. സിംഹ പ്രസവം എന്ന കവിതയിൽ ധൈര്യവും ആത്മവിശ്വാസവും നിറഞ്ഞ വ്യക്തിത്വത്തെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു. സിംഹം പ്രസവിക്കുന്നത് ഒരു ചെറിയ കുഞ്ഞായാലും,അതും ഒരിക്കൽ സിംഹം തന്നെയാകുമെന്നു കവി പറയുന്നു. ഒരു വ്യക്തിയുടെ മൂല്യം തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നത് അവൻ്റെ പുറമെയുള്ള രൂപം കണ്ടല്ല മറിച്ചു അവൻ്റെ ഉള്ളിലുള്ള ഗുണങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടാണ് എന്ന് കവി ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കുന്നു. ആശാൻ്റെ ഭാഷ സംവേദനാപൂർണവും, തീവ്രവുമാണ്. അനാവശ്യ അലങ്കാരങ്ങൾ ഒഴിവാക്കി വ്യക്തമായ സന്ദേശം സമൂഹത്തിനു നൽകുന്നു ആശാൻ കവിതകളിലൂടെ.

1927 – Trivandrum Maharaja’s College of Science Magazine- II Volume

Today’s University College was at one time the University College of Trivandrum. At that time, the college was divided into two colleges, the Maharajas College of Arts and the Maharajas College of Science. The science college is now known as University College. The Arts college still exists under the same name. At that time, only arts subjects were taught at one place and science subjects at the other. This is the official magazine of the then University College of Science. It is interesting to note that the articles in the magazine covered various different fields connected to science and society which not only included Self reflections, articles on unemployment etc, but also poetry; both in English and Malayalam languages. It is imperative that the editors were true to their word as they were glad to receive subjects of topical interest to be published in the magazine. The magazine also features some very rare pictures related to the college.

1928ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, നടുവത്ത് അച്ഛൻ നമ്പൂതിരി രചിച്ച ഭഗവദ്ദൂത് – ഭാഷാനാടകം എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

1933 – എവറസ്റ്റാരോഹണം- സർ ഫ്രാൻസിസ് യങ്ങ് ഹസ്ബൻഡ്

എവറസ്റ്റ് പര്യവേഷണങ്ങൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ പ്രധാന പങ്കു വഹിച്ച ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പര്യവേഷകനും ആത്മീയ എഴുത്തുകാരനുമായ സർ ഫ്രാൻസിസ് യങ്ങ് ഹസ്ബൻഡ് 1926 എഴുതി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ഒരു ക്ലാസിക് പർവ്വതാരോഹണ പുസ്തകമാണ് ദി എപ്പിക് ഓഫ് മൗണ്ട് എവറസ്റ്റ്. എവറസ്റ്റ് കൊടുമുടിയിലേക്കുള്ള ആദ്യ കാല ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പര്യവേഷണങ്ങൾ, 1924 -ൽ കൊടുമുടിയിൽ എത്താൻ   ശ്രെമിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ അപ്രത്യക്ഷനായ ജോർജ് മല്ലോറിയും ആൻഡ്രൂ ഇർവിനും നടത്തിയ നാടകീയവും നിഗൂഢവുമായ ശ്രെമവും ഇതിൽ വിവരിക്കുന്നു. സാഹസികത, ചരിത്രം, മനുഷ്യൻ്റെ സഹിഷ്‌ണുത എന്നിവ സമന്വയിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് ഉജ്ജ്വല ശൈലിയിൽ ആണ് ഇത് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. എവറസ്റ്റാരോഹണശ്രമം വെറും ഒരു വിനോദപരമായ പ്രസ്ഥാനമോ ബാലിശമായ സംരംഭമോ അല്ലെന്നും, ഏറ്റവും വിജ്ഞാനപ്രദവും സാഹസികോൽബുദ്ധവും ആയ ഒരു ശ്രമമാണെന്നും ബോദ്ധ്യമായ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ഈ പുസ്തകം മാത്യു എം. കുഴിവേലി മലയാളത്തിലേക്ക് പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. 1924-നു ശേഷം വീണ്ടും എവറസ്റ്റ് പര്യടനസംഘം ഇക്കൊല്ലം പുറപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ടെന്നു കേട്ടതിനാൽ അവർക്കുകൂടി ഉപകാരപ്രദമാകുവാൻ വേണ്ടിയാണു ഈ പുസ്തകംവേഗത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചത് .
