1968-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, കാതലീൻ ടെയ് ലർ എഴുതിയ സോവിയറ്റ് നാടും ജനതയും എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

ദക്ഷിണഭാഷാ ഗ്രന്ഥമണ്ഡലം കേന്ദ്ര വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമന്ത്രികാര്യാലയത്തിൻ്റെ ധനസഹായത്തോടെ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ 1960-കളിലെ സോവിയറ്റ് യൂണിയനെ (USSR) ഒരു സാമൂഹ്യ–സാംസ്കാരിക ദൃശ്യമായി മലയാള വായനക്കാർക്ക് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന പൊതുജനപഠന ഗ്രന്ഥമാണ് ഈ കൃതി. രാഷ്ട്രീയവിവരണങ്ങൾക്കൊപ്പം സാധാരണ ജനജീവിതം, തൊഴിൽ, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, സ്ത്രീകളുടെ സ്ഥാനം, സംസ്കാരം എന്നിവയും ലളിതമായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ് കൃതിയുടെ പ്രത്യേകത.

1924-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, ഉള്ളൂർ എസ്. പരമേശ്വരയ്യർ എഴുതിയ ഉമാകേരളം ഭാഷാ മഹാകാവ്യം എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

ഉമാകേരളം, ഉള്ളൂർ എസ്. പരമേശ്വരയ്യരുടെ പ്രശസ്തമായ മലയാള മഹാകാവ്യമാണ്. 1914 ഓടെ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ഈ കാവ്യത്തിൽ 19 സർഗങ്ങളിലായി 2000-ലധികം ശ്ലോകങ്ങൾ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.​വേണാട്ട് ഭരിച്ച ദുർബലനായ ആദിത്യവർമ്മ മഹാരാജാവിൻ്റെ കാലത്ത് കല്യാണി രാജ്ഞിയും രവിവർമ്മൻ തമ്പൂരാനും പ്രണയബന്ധത്തിൽ ആകുകയും രാജാവ് വിവാഹം അനുവദിക്കുകയുംചൈയ്യുന്നു. പക്ഷേ ഇടപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ രാജാവിനെ വഞ്ചിച്ച് മന്ത്രിയെ നാടുകടത്തുകയും വിഷം നൽകി ഉമയമ്മരാജ്ഞിയുടെ പുരുഷപ്രജകളെ കൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. കല്യാണിയെ അപഹരിക്കുന്നവരെ മുഗൾ സർദാർ പിടികൂടുന്നു, രവിവർമ്മൻ തിരിച്ചെത്തി ശത്രുക്കളെ തോൽപ്പിക്കുകയും സമാധാനം സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഉമയമ്മ ബ്രിട്ടീഷുകാർക്ക് കോട്ടനിർമാണാനുമതി നൽകുകയും ചൈയ്യുന്നു. ചരിത്രശുഷ്കതകളെ കല്പനകളാൽ സമ്പന്നമാക്കി ഉമയമ്മയുടെ കാലം അതിഭംഗിയായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ഗ്രന്ഥം, സംസ്കൃത നൈഷധീയചരിതത്തിനോട് താരതമ്യയോഗ്യമായ ഭാവനാശക്തി, ഘടനാസൗന്ദര്യം, ചമൽക്കാരം  എന്നിവയാൽ മലയാളത്തിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ മഹാകാവ്യമായി പ്രശംസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

1934-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, മഴമംഗലം നാരായണൻ നമ്പൂതിരി എഴുതിയ ഭാഷാനൈഷധം ചമ്പു എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

ഭാഷാനൈഷധം മലയാളത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്തമായ ഒരു ചമ്പു കാവ്യമാണ്. പതിനേഴാം ശതകം ആണിതിന്റെ രചനാകാലം എന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. ശ്രീഹർഷൻ എഴുതിയ, സംസ്കൃതത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്തകാവ്യമായ നൈഷധചരിതത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി രചിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഈ കൃതി ദമയന്തിയുടെയും നളൻ്റെയും കഥയെ ആധാരമാക്കുന്നു. ചമ്പു ശൈലി പ്രകാരം ഗദ്യവും പദ്യവും സമന്വയിപ്പിച്ചാണ് ഇത് രചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. മധ്യകാല ചമ്പുക്കളിൽ രാമായണം ചമ്പു കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ പ്രാധാന്യം അർഹിക്കുന്ന കൃതി നൈഷധം ചമ്പുവാണ്‌.

സംസ്കൃതബദ്ധമായിരുന്ന സാഹിത്യരീതികളിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്തമായി മണിപ്രവാള സാഹിത്യം മലയാളത്തിന് പുതിയൊരു ദിശ നൽകി. ഭാഷയുടെയും സാഹിത്യത്തിന്റെയും വളർച്ചയെ ഈ രചനാരീതികൾ ഏറെ സഹായിച്ചു. ഗദ്യഭാഗങ്ങൾക്ക് മധ്യകാല മലയാള രീതിയും പദ്യഭാഗങ്ങൾക്ക് സംസ്കൃത വൃത്തങ്ങളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. പുസ്തകത്തിന് ആമുഖം എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് മഹാകവി ഉള്ളൂർ ആണ്. എഡിറ്റ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത് പട്ടത്തിൽ പത്മനാഭ മേനോൻ ആണ്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ തന്നെ നീണ്ട അവതാരികയും പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ കൊടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
