1939-ൽ ഒന്നാംപതിപ്പ് അണിയിച്ചൊരുക്കി പുറത്തിറക്കിയത് പരേതനായ ശ്രീ. പുലിക്കോട്ടിൽ യൌസേഫ് റമ്പാനും സഹോദരൻ പരേതനായ ശ്രീ പുലിക്കോട്ടിൽ ഉട്ടൂപ്പും കൂടിയായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ രണ്ടാംപതിപ്പ് അധികം മാറ്റങ്ങൾ വരുത്താതെ രണ്ടാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധകാലത്തിനു ശേഷം 1948-ൽ ആണ് പുറത്തിറക്കിയത്. ഏ.ആർ.പി. ഭാഷാനിഘണ്ടുവിൻ്റെ പരിഷ്ക്കരിച്ച മൂന്നാം പതിപ്പാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ പതിപ്പിൽ ഭാഷാശാസ്ത്രപരമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻഗണന നൽകുന്നു, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഭാഷയുടെ ഉപയോഗത്തെ പരിപാലിക്കുന്ന തരത്തിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ചതാണ്. ഭാഷാശാസ്ത്രത്തിലെ വ്യാകരണ കാര്യങ്ങളും വ്യത്യസ്ത പ്രകാരങ്ങളും വിശദമായി വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നതിനൊപ്പം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവ മനസിലാക്കുവാൻ സൂക്ഷ്മമായ ഉദാഹരണങ്ങളും നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഭാഷയുടെ ഉപയോഗത്തിലും ആകൃതികളിലും വന്ന മാറ്റങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു, വ്യാകരണത്തിലെ പൂർണതയും ആഴവും ഉറപ്പാക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങളും ഈപതിപ്പിൽ കാണാനാകും. മൂന്നാംപതിപ്പ് പുറത്തിറക്കിയ ഗ്രന്ഥകാരൻ്റെ പേരുവിവരങ്ങൾ ലഭ്യമല്ല.
