1926 – ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച കണ്ണമ്പ്ര കുഞ്ഞുണ്ണിനായർ  രചിച്ച  പ്രതാപസിംഹൻ  എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു  വെക്കുന്നത്.

 

മതം, സാഹിത്യം, രാഷ്ട്രീയം, സാമൂഹിക ധാർമ്മികത എന്നിവയിൽ ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്ക് ഒരുകാലത്ത് സമാനതകളില്ലാത്ത മഹത്വം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെന്നും എന്നാൽ പ്രക്ഷുബ്ധതയിലൂടെയും നിർഭാഗ്യത്തിലൂടെയും അത് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുവെന്നും കെ. കുഞ്ഞുണ്ണി നായർ പ്രതാപസിംഹന്റെ ആമുഖത്തിൽ വാദിക്കുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു സാംസ്കാരിക പുനരുജ്ജീവനം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത് അദ്ദേഹം കാണുകയും ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിന്റെ ഉയർച്ചയുമായി അതിനെ താരതമ്യം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ജനതയ്ക്ക് അവരുടെ നായകന്മാരോടുള്ള ആദരവും സദ്‌ഗുണത്തെയും വീര്യത്തെയും മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ചരിത്ര കേന്ദ്രീകൃത സാഹിത്യവുമാണ് ഇതിന് കാരണമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ആരോപിക്കുന്നു. താരതമ്യപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോൾ, ദേശീയ അഭിമാനം പുനരുജ്ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് ഇന്ത്യൻ നായകന്മാരുടെ ജീവചരിത്രങ്ങൾ മാതൃഭാഷകളിൽ എഴുതുകയും ജനപ്രിയമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്റെ ആവശ്യകത അദ്ദേഹം ഊന്നിപ്പറയുന്നു. പ്രതാപസിംഹനെ നീതിമാനും, സമർപ്പിതനും, ദേശസ്‌നേഹിയും, ആത്മത്യാഗിയുമായ ഒരു ഉത്തമ ഇന്ത്യൻ നായകനായി നായർ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, പൃഥ്വിരാജിന്റെ കത്തും ഖഖാന്റെ കവിതയും പദ്യത്തിലേക്ക് വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്തതിന് കുറ്റിപ്പുറത്തു കേശവൻ നായരോടുള്ള നന്ദിയോടെ അദ്ദേഹം ഉപസംഹരിക്കുന്നു.

Trivandrum Maharaja’s College of Science Magazine, Vol. V, October Issue 01 (1928)—is a historical archival document from the institution now known as University College, Thiruvananthapuram. At that time, the college had recently undergone a significant restructuring (splitting into separate Science and Arts colleges in 1924), making this magazine a record of the early years of the dedicated “College of Science.”
​In 1924, the original Maharaja’s College was bifurcated into the Maharaja’s College of Science (remaining at the original campus) and the Maharaja’s College of Arts (moved to Thycaud).
The 1928 magazine would have been published during the tenure of Mr. James Pryde, who served as Principal from 1927 to 1930. The magazine often reflected the administrative and academic tone set by the principal. It includes English,malyalam poetry and prose written by students and teachers.

1939-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, പ്രാചീനകേരളലിപികൾ എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്1939 – പ്രാചീനകേരളലിപികൾ

പ്രാചീനലിപികളുടെ പരിചയത്തിനായി വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കും ഭാഷാ-സാഹിത്യത്തിൽ താല്പര്യമുള്ളവർക്കും വേണ്ടി തയ്യാറാക്കിയതാണ് ഈ പുസ്തകം. വട്ടെഴുത്ത് എന്ന് തെറ്റായി ഉച്ചരിക്കാറുള്ള വെട്ടെഴുത്ത്, കോലെഴുത്ത്, മലയാണ്മ എന്നീ മൂന്നുതരം ലിപികൾ ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. മലയാണ്മ തെക്കൻ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലാണ് കൂടുതൽ പ്രചരിച്ചിരുന്നത്. മംഗലാചരണങ്ങളുടെ രൂപത്തിൽ പുരാണ ശിലാലിഖിതങ്ങളിൽ കാണുന്ന ആര്യയെഴുത്തിനെപ്പറ്റിയും സൂചനയുണ്ട്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മിക്ക ലിപികളുടെയും മാതൃലിപിയായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത് ബ്രഹ്മി ലിപിയായിരുന്നു. ബ്രഹ്മി ലിപിയുമായുള്ള അടുപ്പം കാരണവും ലിപിപരമായ വ്യക്തത കാരണവും വെട്ടെഴുത്ത് കോലെഴുത്തിനെ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് പ്രാചീനമാണെന്ന നിഗമനവും ലിപികളുടെ പരിശോധനയിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക എഴുതിയ രവിവർമ്മ നടത്തുന്നു.

ഇപ്പോൾ ഓരോ ഭാഷക്കും പ്രത്യേകം പ്രചാരത്തിലിരിക്കുന്ന ലിപികൾ ഇന്നത്തെ രൂപത്തിലായിട്ടു ഇരുന്നൂറോളം വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. പല്ലവന്മാരുടെയും ചോളന്മാരുടെയും ചേരന്മാരുടെയും വിജയനഗരത്തിൻ്റെയും പ്രതാപകാലങ്ങളിൽ ആണ് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ലിപികൾ പ്രചരിച്ചതെന്ന് ടി. കെ കൃഷ്ണമേനോൻ ആമുഖത്തിൽ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ, കൊച്ചി, മലബാർ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന വട്ടെഴുത്ത്, കോലെഴുത്ത്, മലയാണ്മ ലിപികളുടെ വിശദമായ വിവരണം പുസ്തകത്തിൽ ചേർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. ഓരോ ശബ്ദത്തിൻ്റെയും ലിപി വ്യത്യാസങ്ങൾ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നതോടൊപ്പം താമ്രപത്രങ്ങൾ തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രാചീന ലിഖിതങ്ങളിലെ ലിപിവിന്യാസരീതികൾ അക്ഷരമായെടുത്ത് വിശദമായി നൽകിയിട്ടുമുണ്ട്

ആദ്യകാല മലയാള ഗദ്യസാഹിത്യത്തിലെ പ്രധാനികളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്ന ഒടുവിൽ കുഞ്ഞിക്കൃഷ്ണ മേനോൻ കവിയും ചെറുകഥാകൃത്തും പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനുമായിരുന്നു. വെണ്മണി പ്രസ്ഥാനം തുടങ്ങിവെച്ച ശൈലീപരവും ഭാഷാപരവുമായ വഴിയിലൂടെ ആണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ ആദ്യകാല സാഹിത്യശ്രമങ്ങൾ സഞ്ചരിച്ചത്. രണ്ടു ഭാഗങ്ങളായി തിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ കുഞ്ഞിക്കൃഷ്ണമേനോൻ എഴുതിയ രാജസ്തുതികൾ, സ്തോത്രകൃതികൾ, ഖണ്ഡകൃതികൾ, വഞ്ചിപ്പാട്ട് എന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അപ്രകാശിത ഒറ്റശ്ലോകങ്ങളും ചില കവിതകളും ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി മൂന്നാം പതിപ്പായാണ് ഈ പുസ്തകം ഇറങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഗദ്യകൃതികൾ ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ല.

1953-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, എ.എസ്. പഞ്ചാപകേശയ്യർ എഴുതി കെ. ഗോപാലപിള്ള വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്ത രക്തബലി എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്1953 – രക്തബലി

എ.എസ്.പി അയ്യർ എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന എ.എസ്. പഞ്ചാപകേശയ്യർ നോവലിസ്റ്റും നാടകകൃത്തും മദ്രാസ് ഹൈക്കോടതിയിലെ ജഡ്ജിയും ആയിരുന്നു. (1899–1963). അദ്ദേഹം ഇംഗ്ലീഷിൽ എഴുതിയ ‘A Mothers Sacrifice’ എന്ന നാടകത്തിൻ്റെ മലയാള പരിഭാഷയാണ് രക്തബലി. തൻ്റെ ആറു വയസ്സുള്ള മകനെ രാജഭക്തിയാൽ ബലിയർപ്പിച്ച രജപുത്രവനിതയായ പുന്നയുടെ ത്യാഗത്തിൻ്റെ കഥയാണ് ഈ നാടകത്തിലെ കഥാതന്തു. ഭക്തിയുടെ ഉപോത്പന്നമായി നിശ്ചയമായും ത്യാഗവുമുണ്ടാവുമെന്ന് ഈ നാടകം വായനക്കാരോട് പറയുന്നു

The 1931 Census of India, Travancore, Vol. XXVIII Part III (Provincial Tables) is a 1932 publication compiled under Rao Sahib N. Kunjan Pillai that forms part of the wider Travancore census series and supplements the main report and state tables with more detailed administrative and statistical information. It provides granular data for the princely state of Travancore (now in Kerala) on topics such as area and population of taluks and towns, religion and literacy by local units, organised industries, land sales and mortgages, partition deeds, wages, and agricultural livestock, offering a rich demographic and socio‑economic snapshot of the region on the eve of major twentieth‑century changes.

Through this post, we are releasing the digital scan of  Proceedings Of The Travancore Sri Chitra State Council Official Report Second Council Third Session Volume XII (No. I to VIII) published in the year 1940.

The Proceedings of the Travancore Sri Chitra State Council (Volume XV, 1940) records debates, bills, questions, and decisions of the upper house under Dewan-President Sir C. P. Ramaswami Aiyar during Maharaja Sri Chithira Thirunal’s reign. Amid reforms in industry, infrastructure, social policy post-Temple Entry (1936), and World War II measures, discussions focused on budgets for education and public works, legislative amendments like 1940 freedom of speech guarantees, economic development, land revenue, tenancy, public services, and war contributions. This primary source illuminates pre-Independence governance in Travancore, now part of Kerala.​

സംസ്കൃത സാഹിത്യ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ പലതും ഭാഷാ സാഹിത്യകാരന്മാർ അനുകരിക്കാറുണ്ട്. അവയിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഒന്നാണ് ചമ്പൂ പ്രസ്ഥാനം. രാമായണ കഥയെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി പുനം നമ്പൂതിരി രചിച്ച ചമ്പൂകാവ്യമാണ് രാമായണം ഭാഷാചമ്പൂപ്രബന്ധം. രാമായണ കഥയിലെ അത്യുജ്ജ്വലമായ ഒരു കഥാസന്ദര്‍ഭമാണ് വിച്ഛിന്നാഭിഷേകം. ശ്രീരാമന് സിംഹാസനം നിഷേദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതും അനന്തര സംഭവങ്ങളുമാണ് വിച്ഛിന്നാഭിഷേകത്തിൽ കഥാവസ്തു ആകുന്നത്.
