1923-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, നടുവത്ത് മഹൻ നമ്പൂതിരി രചിച്ച, ആശ്രമപ്രവേശം എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്1923 – ആശ്രമപ്രവേശം

ഭക്തിക്കും ആദ്ധ്യാത്മിക ജീവിതത്തിനും പ്രാധാന്യം നൽകുന്ന കാവ്യത്തിൽ 215 ശ്ലോകങ്ങളാണുള്ളത്. അക്കാലത്തെ മണിപ്രവാളകാവ്യങ്ങളുടെ സ്വഭാവം വെച്ചു നോക്കുമ്പോൾ തീർത്തും സമകാലികമായ പ്രമേയമാണ് കൃതിയുടേത്. മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി ജയിലിൽ പോകുന്ന സമയത്ത് സഹധർമ്മിണിക്ക് നൽകുന്ന ഉപദേശമാണ് ആശ്രമപ്രവേശത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രതിപാദ്യം. ലോകവുമായുള്ള ബന്ധത്തിൽ നിന്ന് എങ്ങനെ മോചനം നേടാമെന്നാണ് ഗാന്ധിജി ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നത്. നരസിംഹത്തിൻ്റെയും വാമനൻ്റെയും ദശാവതാരകഥകളും പുരാണത്തിലെ പിംഗളയുടെ ജീവിതദശയും വേടൻ്റെ വലയിൽപ്പെട്ട പ്രാവുകളുടെ ജീവത്യാഗവും ഉപദേശങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ കടന്നു വരുന്നു. വേന്ത്രക്കാട്ട് ശങ്കരനാരായണൻ നമ്പൂതിരിയാണ് പുസ്തകത്തിന് അവതാരിക എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത്

1922 – ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, ചന്ദ്രോത്സവം എന്ന മണിപ്രവാളകൃതിയുടെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാനാണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്. കൊളത്തേരി ശങ്കരമേനോൻ ആണ് ഈ കൃതിയുടെ പ്രസാധനം നടത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്1922 – ചന്ദ്രോത്സവം

അകൃത്രിമമായ രചനാസൗന്ദര്യവും അകലുഷമായ മനോധർമ്മപ്രവാഹവും പരമമായ രസോത്കർഷവുമാണ് അവതാരിക എഴുതിയ വടക്കുംകൂർ രാജരാജവർമ്മ ചന്ദ്രോത്സവത്തിൽ ദർശിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ കൃതിയുടെ രചയിതാവിനെപ്പറ്റി സൂചനയൊന്നും തന്നെയില്ല. എഴുത്തച്ഛൻ, മേൽപ്പത്തൂർ നാരായണ ഭട്ടതിരി, പുനം നമ്പൂതിരി ഇങ്ങനെ പലരിൽ കർത്തൃത്വം കല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട്. ശൃംഗാരകവിതകൾ രചിക്കുന്നതിൽ അഗ്രഗണ്യനായ ചേലപ്പറമ്പു നമ്പൂതിരിയായിരിക്കാം ഇതെഴുതിയതെന്ന് അവതാരികാകാരൻ സംശയിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്

കടത്തനാട്ടു പോർളാതിരി ഉദയവർമ്മരാജാവ് ആനുകാലികം മുഖേന പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചതാണ് ചന്ദ്രോത്സവം. മേനകയും ചന്ദ്രനുമായുള്ള സമാഗമം ഒഴിവാക്കാൻ, മേനകയുടെ രൂപത്തിൽ വന്നു ചതിച്ചതിനാൽ, ചന്ദ്രൻ്റെ ശാപം കൊണ്ടു ഭൂമിയിൽ മനുഷ്യസ്ത്രീയായി ജനിച്ച ചന്ദ്രികയുടെ കഥയാണ് ‘ചന്ദ്രോത്സവം’ പറയുന്നത്. ഭൂമിയിൽ ചിറ്റിലപ്പള്ളിയെന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് കുട്ടികളില്ലാതെ വിഷമിച്ചിരുന്ന അതിസുന്ദരിയായ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മകളായി ചന്ദ്രിക ജനിക്കുന്നു. മേദിനീ വെണ്ണിലാവ് എന്നാണ് ഭൂമിയിലെ പേര്. ശാപമോക്ഷം ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനായി മേദിനീവെണ്ണിലാവ് ചന്ദ്രോത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നതാണ് കൃതിയിൽ പ്രതിപാദിക്കുന്നത്. ചന്ദ്രോത്സവത്തെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള വിശദമായ വിവരം ഇതിൽ കാണാം. ചെങ്ങന്നൂർ, മൂഴിക്കുളം, ഐരാണിക്കുളം, കോഴിക്കോട്, തിരുവല്ല തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റിയും ശങ്കരൻ, പുനം, രാഘവൻ എന്നീ കവികളെപ്പറ്റിയും പരാമർശം ഉള്ളതിനാൽ ചരിത്രപരമായ പ്രാധാന്യവും ചന്ദ്രോത്സവത്തിനുണ്ട്.

T. Ganapati Śastri (1860-1926) was a noted Sanskrit scholar, editor of the Trivandrum Sanskrit Series, and his work on this text reflects the early 20th-century manuscript editing movement in South India. The Aryamanjusrimulakalpa – Part 3  is a major Buddhist tantra-ritual manual (kalpa) devoted to the Bodhisattva Manjusri, dealing with mantra-ritual, meditation, ethical and philosophical dimensions of the Mahayana-Vajrayana tradition. This edition is significant historically for bringing to print the canonical/manuscript version of this text, facilitating modern scholarship in Buddhist Sanskrit, tantra studies, and Indian ritual literature.

This publication is an official government record published by the erstwhile State of Cochin detailing the stucture and personnel of its civil administration as of 1st Chingam 1114 in the Malayalam Era(August 1938). It records details such as names of government officials, their designations, departments, possibly their salaries and appointments. It also contains lists of land revenue, law, police, education, public works and health. The Civil List served as a comprehensive reference for the organization and functioning of the Cochin State Government during the late pre-independence period

The document is historically valuable because it gives a snapshot of the administrative machinery of the Cochin state at that time, who held what office, how the bureaucracy was organised, how the state was being managed under the princely arrangement.
