Through this post, we are releasing the scan on Karnataka Jesuit Centenary Souvenir published in the year 1978 in connection with the Centenary celebrations of their Karnataka Province.
The Jesuit Mission in Karnataka started in Mangalore in the year 1878 with humble beginnings has grown into a vast network of educational and social institutions all over the State. The famous St. Jospeh’s College, St. Joseph’s European High School and the St.Joseph’s Indian High School in Bangalore and the St. Aloysius College in Mangalore are the institutions of the Province through which they are spreading purposeful education among the people of the State. Mullers Hospital and St. Joseph’s Industrial Workshop in Mangalore and the St. Joseph’ Colony in Coondapur are standing monuments of their service to the sick and socially backward people. This Souvenir contains Centenary messages from the Religious Leaders, Central and State government Ministers, a Detailed report on the Centenary Celebrations, various activities of the Jesuits in India and Karnataka and a directory of the Jesuit Provinces, Bishops, Superiors, Institutions all over India and Karnataka.
