Through this post, we are releasing the digital scans of Manual of Syriac Grammar published in the years 1917.

The book was authored by Fr. Gabriel of St. Joseph, a Catholic priest and Syriac scholar associated with the St.Josephs Press in Mannanam. While not widely known globally, Fr. Gabriel’s work has been a staple for students of Syriac in certain scholarly and church-based communities.It is a handwritten book consisting a traditional, structured grammar manual designed to help students. It explains in detail how to read classical Syriac texts, understand biblical and liturgical Syriac and master forms through memorization and paradigm study.

1923 -ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികളുടെ പള്ളിക്രമപുസ്തകം എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ ഡിജിറ്റൽ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

മലയാളത്തിലെ സുറിയാനി (Syriac) ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന ആരാധനാക്രമങ്ങൾ, കുർബാനക്രമം, സാക്രമെന്റുകൾ എന്നിവ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ഔദ്യോഗിക ലിറ്റർജിക്കൽ പുസ്തകമാണിത്. ഈ പള്ളിക്രമപുസ്തകം പ്രധാനമായും കേരളത്തിലെ സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾക്ക് (പ്രധാനമായി സിറോ-മലബാർ സഭ) വേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു. ഇത് ലിറ്റർജി ഏകീകരിക്കുന്നതിനും ആരാധനയിൽ ശുദ്ധമായ ക്രമം നിലനിർത്താനും സഹായിച്ചു. വിശുദ്ധ കുർബാനയുടെ ക്രമം, സ്നാനസക്രാമെന്റ്, വിവാഹചടങ്ങ്, മരണാനന്തര പ്രാർത്ഥനകൾ, തിരുനാളുകൾക്കുള്ള പ്രത്യേക ആരാധനാക്രമങ്ങൾ എന്നീ കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് ഉള്ളടക്കം.

Ernakulam Maharaja’s College traces its roots back to a school founded in the mid-19th century which over time evolved in structure and status toward a college. The college as such was formally established by around 1875. Over the years, it has grown both in academic profile and infrastructure; most recently, it marked a 150th anniversary of its inception. It is a government college, currently functioning with autonomous status. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the state of Kerala, with a long tradition of academic excellence, cultural contributions, and alumni influence.
The contents of the magazine includes Scholarly essays on history, culture, literature, College activity summaries, Academic committee reports and faculty contributions, Student writings (literary works, opinions, poems) and Administrative info.

1957 – ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച, ല്യൂ വൂ – ചി രചിച്ച് പി.എം. കുമാരൻ നായർ പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്തിയ കൺഫ്യൂഷിയൻ ദർശനം എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

ചൈനീസ് ദാർശനികനായ കൺഫ്യൂഷ്യസിന്റെ (Confucius) ചിന്തകളെ മലയാളത്തിലേക്ക് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തിയ പ്രധാന കൃതികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. പി. എം. കുമാരൻ നായർ പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഈ പുസ്തകം. കൺഫ്യൂഷിയസ് ദർശനത്തിലെ മുഖ്യ ആശയങ്ങൾ ലളിതവും സാഹിത്യഗുണമുള്ള ഭാഷയിലും ഈ കൃതിയിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കിഴക്കൻ ലോകത്തിന്റെ ധാർശനിക ചിന്തയിൽ ഏറ്റവും ശക്തമായ സ്വാധീനം ചെലുത്തിയ ദർശനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് കൺഫ്യൂഷിയൻ ദർശനം. ചൈനീസ് ദാർശനികനായ കൺഫ്യൂഷ്യസ് മനുഷ്യജീവിതത്തെയും സമൂഹത്തെയും നൈതികതയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ വിലയിരുത്തിയ ചിന്തകനാണ്. കൺഫ്യൂഷ്യസ് മനുഷ്യനെ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട വ്യക്തിയായി കാണുന്നില്ല. കുടുംബം, സമൂഹം, രാഷ്ട്രം — ഇവയുടെ ഭാഗമായാണ് മനുഷ്യന്റെ നിലനിൽപ്പ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ വ്യക്തിയുടെ ധാർമ്മികത സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ സമാധാനത്തിന് അനിവാര്യമാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം വിശ്വസിച്ചു. കൺഫ്യൂഷിയൻ ദർശനത്തിൽ മാനവിക മൂല്യങ്ങൾക്ക് വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്. മാതാപിതാക്കൾക്ക് ആദരം, മുതിർന്നവരോടുള്ള ബഹുമാനം, സുഹൃത്തുകളോടുള്ള സത്യനിഷ്ഠ — ഇവ എല്ലാം നല്ല സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ആണെന്ന് ദർശനം പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. വ്യക്തി ശരിയായ വഴി പിന്തുടർന്നാൽ സമൂഹം സ്വയം ശരിയായ ദിശയിൽ നീങ്ങുമെന്നതാണ് കൺഫ്യൂഷ്യസിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം. പി. എം. കുമാരൻ നായർ ഈ കൃതിയിൽ കൺഫ്യൂഷ്യൻ ആശയങ്ങളെ സരളവും സുന്ദരവുമായ മലയാളത്തിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പാശ്ചാത്യ ദർശനങ്ങൾ കൂടുതലായി പഠിക്കപ്പെട്ട കാലത്ത്, കിഴക്കൻ ദർശനങ്ങളെ മലയാളിക്ക് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തിയതിലൂടെ ഈ കൃതി പ്രത്യേക പ്രാധാന്യം നേടുന്നു.

Through this post, we are releasing the digital scan of St. Thomas College Trichur Magazine published in the year 1939.

St. Thomas’ College, Thrissur is one of Kerala’s oldest and most prestigious institutions. Founded in 1889 by Rt. Rev. Adolphus E. Medlycott, it started as a school and became a Second Grade College in 1918, later upgrading to First Grade in 1925. It holds the distinction of being Kerala’s first Catholic college, run by the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur, and is affiliated with the University of Calicut.

The Magazine in published twice in a year. In this September issue, the contents are Articles in different topics and literary articles written by eminent writers and students in English and Malayalam languages.
