Through this post, we are releasing the digital scans of Manual of Syriac Grammar published in the years 1917.

The book was authored by Fr. Gabriel of St. Joseph, a Catholic priest and Syriac scholar associated with the St.Josephs Press in Mannanam. While not widely known globally, Fr. Gabriel’s work has been a staple for students of Syriac in certain scholarly and church-based communities.It is a handwritten book consisting a traditional, structured grammar manual designed to help students. It explains in detail how to read classical Syriac texts, understand biblical and liturgical Syriac and master forms through memorization and paradigm study.
