Through this post, we are releasing the digital scan of Census of India Travancore – 1911 – Vol. XXIII – Part II – Imperial Tables written by N. Subramhanya Aiyar and published in the year 1912.
This volume serves as the official statistical dataset of the 1911 Census conducted in the princely state of Travancore under the British Indian Imperial framework.
It contains standard Imperial Tables compiling comprehensive demographic data—such as population totals, age distribution, literacy, religion, caste, and occupation. The data is broken down systematically into 5 Administrative Divisions (Padmanabhapuram, Trivandrum, Kollam, Kottayam, and Devikulam) comprising 30 Taluks, alongside natural geographic zones (highland and lowland). It is a fundamental primary source for researchers studying 20th-century socio-economic conditions, demographic movements, and administrative boundaries in southern India.
