1947ൽ പ്രസിദ്ദീകരിച്ച കോൺസ്റ്റന്റൈൻ ജോസഫ് ബെസ്ചി /വീരമാമുനിവർ തമിഴിൽ എഴുതി, മേപ്രത്ത് എം ജോസഫ്  പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്തിയ തേമ്പാവണി എന്ന കൃതിയുടെ സ്കാൻ ആണ് ഈ പോസ്റ്റിലൂടെ പങ്കു വെക്കുന്നത്.

വീരമാമുനിവർ എന്ന തമിഴ് നാമത്തിർ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ജെസ്യൂട്ട് പാതിരിയും ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യയിലെ മിഷനറിയും സാഹിത്യകാരനുമായിരുന്ന കോൺസ്റ്റന്റൈൻ ജോസഫ് ബെസ്ചി എഴുതിയ കാവ്യാത്മക തമിഴ് കൃതിയാണ് തേമ്പാവണി . ക്‌ളാസ്സിക്‌ രീതിയില്‍ രചിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഈ കാവ്യത്തില്‍ ക്രിസ്‌തുദേവന്റെ വളര്‍ത്തച്ഛനായ ജോസഫിന്റെ ചരിത്രം, ക്രിസ്‌തുദേവന്റെ കുരിശുമരണം, പ്രാചീനകാലത്തെ ആചാരവിശേഷങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവ പ്രതിപാദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്‌.. ഒരു തമിഴ് – ലാറ്റിൻ നിഘണ്ടുവിൻ്റെ കർത്താവ്, തിരുവള്ളുവരുടെ തിരുക്കുറളിൻ്റെ ലാറ്റിൻ ഭാഷയിലേക്കുള്ള വിവർത്തകൻ എന്നീ നിലകളിലും വീരമാമുനിവർ പ്രശസ്തനാണ്.
