The Coconut Bulletin, the Indian Central Coconut Committee’s primary monthly publication during 1952–1953, edited by K. Gopalan and printed in Ernakulam, Kerala, bridged agricultural scientists, policymakers, and coconut growers amid India’s push for scientific farming modernization. Key content emphasized pest and disease control from new research stations in Kayangulam and Kasaragod, including chemical injections for red palm weevil, biological controls like ants against bugs, and updates on Kerala’s Root Wilt crisis. Issues also covered agronomy topics such as morphological abnormalities in palms, manuring with green manure and river silt, alongside monthly market surveys of copra and oil prices in hubs like Cochin and Alleppey, plus discussions on the 1952 Coconut Committee Amendment Bill to enhance research funding through expanded oil mill taxation.
