The Travancore Archeological series is a foundational compilation of epigraphical and archaeological research on the history and inscriptions of the former Travancore State (present day Kerala and parts of the Tamil Nadu) Edited initially by T.A Gopinatha Rao after the establishment of the Travancore Archaeology Department in 1908-09, the serious include multiple volumes features inscriptions, translations, interpretations, estampages and valuable iconographic studies. This is a scholarly publication aimed at documenting and preserving the rich historical and epigraphical heritage of the Travancore. In this book stone inscriptions and copper plate grants discovered in Travancore, the political history of ancient and medieval Tranvancor, Temple grants, land donations and administrative decrees, Royal lineages, religious practices and cultural details of the period and images are also included. As a superintendent of Archaeology for Tranvancore, K.V. Subrahmanya Aiyar played a major role in identifying, documenting and publishing epigraphical records from temples and ancient monuments. This book is published by Government of Travancore.
