Abstract
This issue of The Marxist Volume 11, No. 4 of The Marxist (October-December 1993), a theoretical quarterly of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The issue contains three significant international documents and essays focusing on the transitions and economic strategies of socialist and communist movements across different countries. The issue examines the role of the South African Communist Party (SACP) in the transition to democracy and socialism. It highlights the SACP's strategic role within the African National Congress as apartheid comes to an end. It also look in to the Communist Party of China's Central Committee decision regarding the establishment of a socialist market economic structure, adopted in November 1993.
