Virupakshapanchasika is a rare, classic Sanskrit philosophical work published in 1910 as the ninth volume of the prestigious Trivandrum Sanskrit Series under the authority of the Maharaja of Travancore. It is a metaphysical work consisting of 50 verses that closely follow the Pratyabhijna school of thought (associated with Kashmir Shaivism and Advaita philosophy), as referenced by Madhavacharya in his Sarvadarsanasamgraha. The original text was written by Virupakshanathapada. This edition includes a detailed commentary by Vidyachakravartin, a prominent scholar known for his commentaries on classical works like Kavyaprakasa and Alankarasarvasva. The book was edited by the renowned scholar T. Ganapati Sastri, the text was prepared using two- century-old palm-leaf manuscripts written in Malayalam script retrieved from the Travancore Palace Library.
