The book of Psalms translated into Malayalam and published by Benjamin Bailey in 1839 was printed at the CMS Press in Kottayam. This edition shows several differences from the 1834 edition. Full stops were used to mark the end of sentences. Neither the letters ē (ഏ) and ō (ഓ) nor their vowel signs were used. Most punctuation marks, such as commas, semicolons, brackets, and colons, can be seen in this edition. Malayalam numerals were used throughout the book. It is also speculated that Bailey introduced these punctuation marks into Malayalam.

1839-ൽ ബെഞ്ചമിൻ ബെയിലി പ്രസിദ്ധികരിച്ച മലയാളത്തിലേക്കു പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്തിയ സങ്കിർത്തനങ്ങളുടെ പുസ്തകം കൊട്ടയം, സി. എം.എസ് പ്രെസ്സിലണ് അച്ചടിച്ചത്. 1834-ലെ പുസ്തകത്തിൻ്റെ അച്ചടിയിൽനിന്നും കുറച്ചു വ്യത്യാസങ്ങളുണ്ട് ഈ പതിപ്പിന്. വാചകങ്ങൾ അവസാനിക്കുമ്പോളുള്ള വിരാമത്തിന് പൂർണവിരാമം അഥവാ ഫുൾ സ്റ്റോപ്പ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഏ കാരങ്ങളോ ഓ കാരങ്ങളോ അതിൻ്റെ ചിഹ്നങ്ങളോ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. കോമ, അർദ്ധവിരാമം, ബ്രാക്കറ്റ്, കോളൻ, തുടങ്ങിയ മിക്ക ചിഹ്നങ്ങളും ഈ പതിപ്പിൽ കാണാം. മലയാള അക്കങ്ങൾ എല്ലായിടത്തും ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
