Alphabetum Grandonico Malabaricum is a Latin treatise on the script and grammar of the Malayalam language. It was written by Clemens Peanis and published in 1772 by the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, Rome. The book was printed using the same printing plates that were later employed for the publication of Samkshepavedartham. Considered one of the earliest renditions of an elaborate Malayalam grammar and script manual, the work systematically documented Malayalam letters, pronunciation, orthography, and grammatical features for European missionaries and scholars. It also stands among the earliest scholarly attempts to codify Malayalam in print through movable metal type. The foreword, written by John Christopher Amadutius, discusses the three different scripts used in Malayalam and explains the technical challenges involved in preparing more than 1,128 printing types for the work.

റോമിലെ കോൺഗ്രഗേഷനിസ് ഡി പ്രൊപ്പഗാൻ്റാ ഫിഡേ ആദ്യമായി മലയാളലിപി അച്ചടിച്ച പുസ്തകം എന്നാണ് 'ആൽഫബെറ്റം ഗ്രന്ഥൊണിക്കൊ മലബാറിക്കം' (Alphabetum Grandonico Malabaricum) എന്ന കൃതിയെ 'ആദിമുദ്രണം ഭാരതത്തിലും മലയാളത്തിലും' എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൽ കെ.എം. ഗോവി വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ആദ്യത്തെ സമ്പൂർണ്ണ മലയാളം അച്ചടി പുസ്തകമായ സംക്ഷേപവേദാർത്ഥം അച്ചടിക്കുന്നതിനു തൊട്ട് മുൻപ് 1772-ൽ തന്നെ മലയാളഭാഷയെക്കുറിച്ചും മലയാളലിപിയെക്കുറിച്ചും അതിനെ വ്യാകരണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും അത്യാവശ്യം വിശദീകരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് ലാറ്റിൻ ഭാഷയിൽ എഴുതിയ പുസ്തകം ആണിത്. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ ആദ്യമായി അച്ചടിച്ച മലയാളവ്യാകരണഗ്രന്ഥവും ഈ ലാറ്റിൻ കൃതി ആണെന്ന് പറയാം. പതിനാറു സ്വരങ്ങളും 35 വ്യഞ്ജനങ്ങളും അടങ്ങുന്ന 51 അടിസ്ഥാനലിപികളാണു ഭാഷയിലുള്ളതെന്നും എന്നാൽ അച്ചടിയുടെ ആവശ്യത്തിനു് ഇവയെ ഉൾച്ചേർത്ത 1128 അച്ചുകൾ വാർത്തെടുക്കേണ്ടി വന്നുവെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം എഴുതിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
