Abstract
en This study presents a comparative historical analysis of the influence exerted by Indo-Aryan languages—primarily Sanskrit, Middle Indo-Aryan dialects and Modern Indo-Aryan languages on the Malayalam language. Utilizing modern comparative linguistic methodologies under the supervision of Prof. R.L. Turner, the author examines the socio-historical mechanisms of language contact, the phonological and morphological integration of borrowed vocabulary, and the resulting semantic transformations within native Dravidian speech.
