Benjamin Bailey died five years before the publication of this edition. The most notable feature of this edition is the inclusion of parallel references on every page, which increased the total length of the book to around 780 pages. When compared with the 1829 edition, most of the verses appear to have been rewritten. In addition to Malayalam numerals, Arabic numerals were also used within the text for various purposes. However, chapter and verse numbers continued to be given in Malayalam numerals. This edition also introduced the vowel forms “ē” and “ō.” Furthermore, the names of certain books were revised. For example, the title of the final book was changed from “Ariyippu” to “Velippāṭu.”
