St. Thomas Christians also known as the Syrians of Malabar or Malankara hail the Apostle St. Thomas as the founder of their Church. They were all on in faith and rite until\u00a0 the year 1953. In the\u00a0 16th Century, the Portuguese establilshed their ecclesiastical centers in Goa and Cochin tried by every means to do away with the jurisdiction of the Patriarch, ritual peculiarities, errors and unsound passages found in the liturgical books were also many reasons for the Portuguese to interfere in the affairs of Malabar. They also followed a policy of Latinization. This essay is describing the history and developement of the conflicts, the involvement of\u00a0 leadership to resolve the issues faced by the re union movement.<\/p>\n
